Berrylicious Birthday Parties!!

Last month I was planning a party for my children ages 8 and 9. I was trying to find an in home activity to go along with our party. WOW! Did I ever struggle. Here locally there are not a lot of programs to entertain children in the pre-tween to teen age group. It got me thinking. How great would it be to make and play with chocolate for an hour during a party. I thought I could take my background as a former public school teacher with 10 years classroom experience, my love for throwing fabulous parties AND my passion for chocolate together and help other parents throw fantastic parties. That one thought started a new business plan and outline for Berrylicious Birthday Parties. The model is for a 2 hour party where Berrylicious is the entertainment for the middle 1-1.15 hour and will be available very soon. The parties are targeted to children ages 5-14. 8 children, plus the birthday girl/boy is the standard size, children can be added to this number for an additional charge, up to a total of 15 party goers. This is what will be included in the birthday fun!

Party guest will…..

- Wear a Berrylicious Apron, the Birthday Boy/Girl will get to keep theirs as a keepsake of the day!

- Listen to Candy Themed Music

- Decorate a chef’s hat to wear and keep

- Choose a mold and make 2 chocolate lollipops. They will make, bag and bow these and take them home as favors.

- Dip and decorate 2 strawberries that will be made into a custom bouquet.

- Dine on a personal chocolate fondue.

- Play a chocolate themed game if time allows

There will be 6 theme colors for parents to choose from.

Some add on’s will include

- the purchase of a Berrylicious Apron for each child to keep

- additional dippers for the personal fondue

- a birthday cake from Cakes By Angelina to match your theme colors and brought to the party by Berrylicious Birthdays.

We are so excited to get started. As soon as our Berrylicious Aprons get here we will be booking dates for our new Super FUN Berrylicious Birthday Parties!!

Children Learning to be Berrylicious!

This class is great for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Sport Teams, or just a group of friends that would enjoy the experience. I was a teacher for 10 years after college and have taken my love of teaching and my love of chocolate and put them together for this special class:)

The class starts with CHOCOLATE!!! Each person gets to see what our chocolate looks like before it is melted and TASTE it!! While the chocolate melts we chat about how Berrylicious became a business and how we melt chocolate in our kitchen.
Once the chocolate is ready we show the children how to dip a berry, decorate it and let it dry. Then the fun begins. Each child gets to dip and decorate their own berry. While the berries are drying we take questions and have each child dip a rice Krispy treat and decorate that as a special treat. While they are munching away on their rice krispy treat I show the children how to put together a bouquet with the berries they dipped. That is usually photo time. We end the class with everyone having a chocolate covered strawberry.

This experience can he had here at Berrylicious HQ or WE WILL COME TO YOU! We can set up anywhere that has a counter or table and a plug!

Valentine’s Frenzy!!

As you can imagine, Valentine’s Day may be the number one day all year for Berrylicious Bouquets. We are crazy busy for 48 hours, then we crash. This year will be Bigger and Better. You will be able to find Bouquets, Gift Boxes and Packages of goodie at quite a few different places.

The Website, www.BerryliciousBouquets.com- You can order our full line of bouquets, gift boxes, and favor bags right on the website. We will also deliver any and all of these products.

The Bread Basket Bakery, Saratoga Springs- The Bread Basket sells our full line of Goodies, they are all decorated in fun Heart sprinkles. They are also taking Pre-Orders for both our gift boxes AND Sweet Dozen Berrylicious Bouquets. Next time you are in to get your bread, lunch, or bakery treat you can place your order for either one of these and they will be ready for pick up on Valentine’s Day!

Niskayuna Co oP, Niskayuna- The Niskayuna is selling 3 of our packaged goodies decorated with heart sprinkles. They have our Oreo’s, Graham Crackers, and pretzels. Starting tomorrow 01/15 you will be able to place a pre-order for a Berrylicious Bouquet Sweet Dozen. They will be ready for pick-up on Valentines Day!

We are expanding our reach and for all you Greenfield Peeps, keep an eye out next time you are at Chip’s Place. You just might find Some Berrylicious Goodies to go with that great dinner you are picking up:)

Just a quick note to say THANKS to everyone that ordered a chocolate covered strawberry bouquet, Berrylicious Goodies, or a Combination of both on a Platter. It was a record breaking holiday season, ok it was only our second, but we tripled last years. Thanks also to the Niskayuna Co oP(Niskayuna), The Bread Basket(Saratoga) and The Blu Tea Co Tea Shop(Mechanicville) for selling our products. We also raised $205 dollars for the Jakes Help from Heaven foundation. $5 from every order was donated to the foundation! We are pushing through New Years and still taking last minute orders.

Febuary is right around the corner and we will be shipping boxes of Berrylicious Goodies, NATIONWIDE!! Each box will contain 1 dozen pieces of chocolate covered goodness:) This is getting VERY exciting!! We will keep you updated on where you can purchase Berrylicious Goodies and as always give us a call or order your bouquets on-line!!

What a Day!!

Yesterday was quite a day. Elaine Houston from Channel 13 came to interview me for a piece on local women in business, but lets back track a bit. We applied for our Ag and Markets licence 6 weeks ago, I called once a week each week hoping to get the inspector to stop by, inspect the new chocolate kitchen in the basement, but we heard nothing from anyone. UNTIL yesterday. I had a girl come to blow out my hair in the morning. She gets started and there is a knock on the door. Michael answers it and low and behold it is the INSPECTOR!!! He is all confused because it is a house, not a store front, we shuffle him into the basement and within 15 mins we are inspected approved and have paperwork in hand….WOW!!!! Now I am down to 40 mins before the news crew shows up, we do my hair in fast forward, get Brittny out of the house and then Elaine and her film guy Ray show up. They were here over an hour and they both made me so comfortable. We laughed so hard and had a good time while getting all the footage they needed. Talking to Elaine was like talking to one of my girlfriends.
We have been in business 13 months and have gone from renting kitchen space at Decadent Diva, to renting kitchen space at Stomah Cakes(there is a link to Stomach Cakes website on our home page), to having my own space in my home. It has been a crazy year and I have learned so much and made so many new friends. Amazing the diffence a year can make. I am totally looking forward to see what happens in the next 13 months!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Berrylicious Bouqets is really chugging along. We have added new products and new places to purchase them. The products we have added have a much longer shelf life then the berries. They are chocolate covered pretzels, graham crackers, oreos, and rice krispy lollipops. All will be decorated appropriate for the time of the year.

Most exciting is we have shops starting to sell our products in their stores. Our first order was from BLU TEA CO in Mechanicville, NY. It is the cutest little coffee shop EVER!! The owner Nellie is a huge supporter of local commerce. You can have a fabulous cuppa, have a bite to eat(a bit of chocolate for dessert) and do some shopping. Be sure to stop by and say “Hi”!

The second place you will find our products is The Bread Basket Bakery in Saratoga. The have the most incredible baked products, pies, cookies, cakes, and their bread is TO.DIE.FOR. They also serve a Wonderful Breakfast and Lunch, my favorite is always the selection of soups, one is better than the next. They will even bring lunch to you with their delivery service! Starting after Thanksgiving besides our other items they will also be selling a special Holiday Oreo. Hand Dipped in White Chocolate with Candy Cane bits sprinkled on top YUM YUM YUM!!

Holiday Give Back!

With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner I would like to officially announce our Holiday Give Back Fundraiser! This year every bouquet that is ordered for delivery or pick up from now until Christmas Day will result in a $5.00 donation to the Jakes Help From Heaven foundation! Not only will you have a great hostess gift, centerpiece or addition to a dessert table, you will also have given a donation to an amazing foundation. Birthday, Anniversary, Thanks You bouquets will ALL be included as well, no matter the occasion it will increase the giving to the JHFH foundation. We will be delivering on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve/Day! Get your orders in soon:)
